RedBite Solutions was one of the 11 UK organisations specially chosen to participate in an Internet of Things (IoT) Mission to China organised by Innovation China and the Shanghai Technology Transfer and Exchange organisation. There were over 200 Chinese delegates who attended both events in Jiading and Wuxi where the UK representatives outlined their IoT opportunities to local Chinese organisations.

RedBite Solutions has been granted an RFID patent to optimise reader operations in multiple reader environment and outlines the next generation reader configuration mechanism. This patent reinforces the portfolio of RedBite patents and strengthen the intellectual properties of the company.

RedBite Solutions recently exhibited at the Total Workplace Management event in London’s Olympia - the show is aimed at providing innovation and education to the FM industry. In order to help visitors gain an understanding of just how quickly stock checks can be carried out using RedAsset Lite, 20 items were tagged including a server, document folder, book and chair. Visitors then used an RFID handheld to perform stock check, and the quickest time recorded was just under 5 seconds to locate all the 20 items!

Redbite Solutions recently attended the IDTechEx RFID Europe event held in Cambridge UK. The event brings together end users, system integrators and manufacturers. Our exhibition stand showed the latest version of our track and trace platform which contains a new visualisation layer and RTLS capability.

RedBite recently upgraded its RFID device layer and process capability to interface with a Real-Time Location System (RTLS). This RTLS system is based on passive, Gen2 RFID tags but capable of providing real-time updates of tag locations. RedBite deployed this updated version of their RedAsset solution in one of the largest aerospace and defence manufacturer in the UK to improve assembly efficiency and track down missing tools.

The first RedAsset Lite deployment has been deployed in the London office of one of the world's largest investment banking groups. It provides the end-user with the ability to track high value items in the office environment. This deployment demonstrates the flexibility and capability of RedBite products to be customised towards different tracking environment.

RedBite Solutions recently released an entry level track and trace solution - “RedAsset Lite”. It is a lightweight asset management application that relies on RFID handheld devices to improve stock check and management of asset locations. RedAsset Lite runs on a web-based application server locally or remotely.

A new V2 RFID platform has been released by RedBite Solutions. This new platform has been completely redesigned to provide a high-level of customisation and flexibility to adapt to different RFID processes and scenarios without the need for additional coding.

RedBite Solutions has been granted a patent on RFID security to enhance security of RFID operation. As part of the portfolio of RedBite patents, it is integral towards providing a safe and secure RFID operations between the readers and tags, as well as providing a mechanism to detect unauthorised RFID readers.

RedBite Solutions was featured in an RFID Journal article titled U.K. Software Startup Aims to Simplify RFID Deployments. RedBite, a company founded by members of the Auto-ID Lab at Cambridge, is offering a track-and-trace platform designed to be highly configurable and easy to deploy. Professor Duncan McFarlane quoted "Some customers want to keep their track-and-trace systems simple and separate from their business information environment. RedBite's offerings enable that, but support integration where that is desired."

RedBite Solutions exhibited at the recent RFID Journal Live Europe 2010 Conference and Exhibition held in Darmstadt, Germany. The company was looking for both potential partners and end users of its Asset, Warehouse and Logistics Management solutions. Chris Evans, the company’s Sales Director said “A variety of end user companies showed interest in the ease of integration, configuration and deployment of our solutions." Partner interest focused on the next generation track and trace Redbite platform that can be easily extended with a particular domain focus.

RedBite CEO, Dr Alex C. Y. Wong delivered a keynote presentation at the IDTechEx RFID Europe 2010 Cambridge conference in September. Alex spoke in conjunction with Mr Wolfgang Schoenfeld from Sony Europe on RFID deployments across Sony's supply chain from factory to the shelf. Sony uses the logistics management solution from Redbite called RedLog to track serialised cases and pallets across multiple organisations in the consumer electronics supply chain. This is the world’s first EPCIS based deployment of this kind and highlighted the ease of customisation, flexibility in system integration and speed of deployment demonstrated by RedBite. Mr Schoenfeld concluded that it was possible to reduce supply chain shipment processing time by a significant factor of between 40%-70%.

Wolfgang Schoenfeld from Sony Europe presented an overview of Redbite products deployed in Sony in the logistic conference Log 2010: EHI/GS1 Germany Handelslogistik Kongress. Redbite has deployed RFID solutions to track Sony products from factories to warehouses and all the way to the retail stores.

RedBite now has a velocity-based RFID portal for warehouse control. Automated goods receipt upon inbound and goods shipment upon outbound can be verified using velocity as well as non-velocity RFID reads, providing additional confidence to product movement in warehouses.

RedBite Solutions has successfully completed its product integration with the Discovery Service implementation developed by AT4 wireless S. A. for the European Union BRIDGE project. Now fully integrated within Redbox, this is perhaps the first in the world to align closely with the EPCglobal vision of a networked RFID solutions. This integrated Discovery Service will be rolled out in a real industrial environment to uncover the benefit of true supply network information sharing for the end-users.

RedBite Solutions has successfully deployed a RedBox in the automation lab within Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. This equipped the lab with the capability to communicate with various state-of-the-art UHF Gen2 RFID Readers via LLRP and EPCIS standard interface that RedBite developed. This deployment will also help to push forward RFID research within the Cambridge Auto-ID Lab.
