The Opportunity 

This is a unique opportunity to join RedBite’s growing development team. You’ll gain exposure to and have the potential to influence high level project decision making and architecture design decisions. You’ll work on exciting, cutting edge object tracking systems including the company’s newest SaaS product, itemit – the easy way to track and monitor any asset. itemit is growing rapidly and already boasts an impressive client list.

The Role

We are looking for a software engineer, ideally with full stack experience, to join our cross-discipline team. Your main role is as a software engineer for our backend application. As a backend software engineer, you will also collaborate daily with our frontend and mobile developers. You will ensure our backend application is of the highest quality, take charge of the health of our test and production deployment and foresee and address issues quickly and efficiently. You will also assist where needed on our backend rest API. Your work will make a huge impact to hundreds of organisations using it around the world.

Our backend technology stack and desirable skills are:
– Kotlin (or Java)
– Graph Databases (especially ElasticSearch and Neo4j)
– Coroutines
– Docker

Our deployment technologies and non-essential skills are mainly AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, Fargate, Cloudfront, Route53. We also use tools such as Git, Git Flow, Github and BitBucket.

You will participate in daily stand up zoom video calls at 9am GMT every day.
