On October 30th, Adrian Segens, RedBite’s Chief Commercial Officer was one of the speakers at the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) hosted CSIC Emerging Infrastructure Technologies Workshop on creating the building blocks of the Smart City.

The workshop, attended by 40 delegates from the civil engineering industry, focused on innovative technology used to automatically identify (AutoID) objects and people to streamline construction and asset management processes, thus creating a Smart City. Speakers included engineers from CrossRail, Laing O’Rourke and ATC, experts from the University of Cambridge AutoID Labs and RedBite Solutions. Adrian described how connecting AutoID and sensor devices directly to the cloud could enable engineers and the public to interact with everything from bus stops to bridges, prolonging the life of those assets and bringing real benefits to the citizens and visitors alike in the cities of the near future.
