Our Cambridge DNA

We don't just write code; we define the physics of information. Our superpower is bridging the gap between the chaotic physical world and the ordered digital one.

AUTHORITY

We Write the Rules

We don't just play the game; we define it. From the Auto-ID Center to today, we author the global protocols (EPC Gen2) that billions of devices speak.

PHYSICS

We See the Invisible

Our team masters the physics of RF to extract data from silence. Where others see inert matter, we see a digital conversation waiting to happen.

IDENTITY

We Value Uniqueness

We obsess over the identity of things. Every asset is a sovereign entity with a story, and we ensure that story is told with absolute precision.

RESILIENCE

We Engineer Survival

We design for the chaos of the real world. Our networks self-heal, scale effortlessly, and survive in environments where fragile systems fail.

AGENCY

We Automate Action

Passive data bores us. We empower agents to apply force to mass—turning simple telemetry into autonomous, optimised supply chain reactions.

TRUST

We Protect Truth

In an era of uncertainty, we build the immutable. Our DePIN architectures ensure that physical history can never be rewritten, only recorded.

Our Evolution

1999

The Spark

The Auto-ID Center is founded at Cambridge University. In these labs, the 'Internet of Things' was conceived—shifting the paradigm from passive barcodes to intelligent, networked identities.

2006

The Standard

EPC Gen2 is ratified as the global standard. RedBite spins out to commercialise this protocol, building the foundational software stack that allows billions of items to communicate.

2016

The Platform

itemit launches, shattering the barrier to entry for enterprise tracking. We replaced proprietary hardware with everyday smartphones, democratising asset intelligence for thousands of businesses.

2024

The Network

The launch of umin.ai and our DePIN ecosystem. We are now bridging the physical and sovereign web, empowering AI agents to own, manage, and trade real-world assets autonomously.
